Siouxlander wins $10,000 in Big Brothers Big Sisters Million $ Shootout

Despite rain and windy conditions, Josh Henry, 23, of Onawa, Iowa walked away with $10,000 when he rung a hole-in-one shot at the Big Brothers Big Sisters Million $ Shootout. Henry cupped his winning shot in one of four jackpot holes that were placed 3 feet from the million dollar pin. Ten finalists were narrowed from the field of 96 - Round 2 Qualifiers. Each finalist had one shot at the Million Dollar prize and a variety of prize packages to choose from. 

The Million $ Shootout began Monday, August 1^st at area golf courses and driving ranges. Participants took shots at a 150 yard pin to qualify for Saturday’s final rounds. 10 finalists moved onto round three. “I heard about the event on the radio and couldn’t find my golf shoes so I took my chances at a million barefooted. I will be able to buy a new pair of golf shoes now” commented Henry. 

Funds raised benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Siouxland in their efforts to recruit mentors for their growing list of youth who are waiting for a Big Brother or Big Sister.

• Antonio D. Lopez of South Sioux City - 11 ft. 3 in.
• Tom Boschen of Bronson - 31 ft. 4 3/4 in.
• Jonathon Farley of Sioux City - 33 ft. 4 in.
• Don Adams of Sioux City - 46 ft. 8 1/4 in.
• Josh Solma of Sioux City - 53 ft. 6 1/2 in.
• Adam Lloyd of Moville - 62 ft. 2 1/4 in.
• Mike Boomsma of Huron, SD - 68 ft. 2 3/4 in.
• Bob Engel of Sheldon, IA - 105 ft. 6 1/2 in.
