SIOUX CITY, Iowa - Big Brothers Big Sisters of Siouxland and presenting sponsor Aventure welcomed over 250 bowlers to Rush Lanes for the 7th Annual Bowl for Kids’ Sake March 29 – 31. Coined as Wacky Tacky T-Shirt Bowl, the event raised a record-setting $47,000, all of which will return to the agency’s vision that all children achieve success in life.
“Wacky Tacky T-Shirt Bowl was such a success,” Development Director Teresa Magnussen said. “Rush Lanes created a phenomenal atmosphere and helped Big Brothers Big Sisters of Siouxland say thank you to everyone for their fundraising efforts. We saw a lot of new teams this year, along with teams that have been a part of the event since the beginning. We extend our appreciation to all those that came out to help Big Brothers Big Sisters of Siouxland continue to fulfill its mission.”
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Siouxland’s three-day event thanked participants for their fundraising efforts with bowling, food, fun and prizes. Competitions were held for the top-individual fundraiser, top fundraising team and top-team pin count. Kevin Eekhoff took home top-individual fundraiser honors with $1,300. Team Saucesome from Portionables, a Sargento Company, raised $2,766.30 as the top fundraising team. In the pin count battle, it was the Y 101.3 Offensive Linemen’s 1,815 that topped the charts.
Bowlers that raised $150 were also rewarded in a post-event drawing. Complete competition results, along with team members, are listed below.
